US Women win Silver

The US women played their best to make it to the finals of the World Team Championships and were able to beat some of the best in the world,. Today France prevailed over the US and won the title.

To give you some idea of their experience – France’s #1 player, Gail Benedetti, played the pro circuit in her earlier career winning 4 French Open doubles titles and was runner-up 2 other times. She also got to the singles quarter-finals in Australia twice and to the single quarter-finals at the French Open twice. Gail has also been ranked as high as #1 in the world, senior women’s division.

France’s #2 player, Nicole Hesse, also played the pro circuit and has been ranked as high as #1 in the world, senior division.

I hope you will let our USA team know how proud you are of them and their accomplishments when they get home.

Next week Brenda Carter, Betty Wachob and Carol Clay will play the World Individual Championships held in Klagenfurt, Austria. Keep checking this site for updates and photos.

THank You ALL for your positive comments and well wishes that were sent to the team!
